Explore la Tierra

We recently hired Carlos for an immersive 3 days exploring Vejer de la Frontera and other areas of Cadiz. We were impressed by his command of the English language, his passion for his "tierra", and his charisma. Carlos took us to off the beaten path queserías, bodegas, markets. He crafted a full and varied itinerary that included exploring the amazing Baelo Claudia Roman ruins, having a heart-warming lunch with a local who grows her own produce and has a fascinating story, learning all about the bluefin tuna Almadraba process in Cadiz, hiking to amazing tops while learning about the native flora and fauna along the way, pairing some incredible sherry with local produce, and walking the streets of the charming Vejer de la Frontera. Hands down, one of the best guides I have ever come across. Well rounded, worldly, and an excellent human being.

Carlos picked us up at the Spanish border outside Gibraltar, as we were staying in Gibraltar. From the time he greeted us until the end of the day, he shared with us the history, culture, and gastronomy of southern Spain. We saw ancient Roman, Visigoth, and more modern sights. With his presentation, it seemed that history came alive. He customized our tour to meet our interests and arranged an amazing lunch after a robust morning of touring. This was our first visit to Spain and after spending the day with Carlos, we plan to return to Spain. When we do, we will definitely contact Explore la Tierra again.

We did a hike with Carlos and it was amazing. Saw lots of things we would never see on our own. It was very interesting to learn the history of the area. The sights were breathtaking. I would recommend this tour to anyone in the area. 5*

We hired Carlos as our tour guide and had a fantastic day with him. First we hiked with him through the beautiful Estrecho natural park and then we went on a tapa tour through Cádiz. His knowledge is enormous and he is very kind and professional.
This time we didn't have time for a sherry tour, but when we come back next year we will definitely do it with him. Thank you Carlos for this great day and the perfect organisation.

We really enjoyed our walking tour with Carlos. It was easy to book, flexible and very affordable. They tour was great: extremely interesting, caring, personable guide, ready to adjust to the needs of the young and the old. Lot of information on history, culture, architecture, life in general.
